Concrete Rhinoceros
Lindsay sings a rollicking children's song which he wrote in celebration of unusual yard art. Everyone, including the studio staff, joins in and sings along! |

Blues In the Bottle
Nancy Fly sings and plays fiddle this old country blues tune, while Lindsay Haisley, thanks to the miracle of modern studio technology, plays both the trombone and the autoharp (don't try this at home, folks!).

St. Anne's Reel
Lindsay's autoharp and Nancy's accordian trade licks on this traditional fiddle tune. The enthusiasm in this recording is contagious! |

| The cuts of St. Anne's Reel and
Blues in the Bottle above were recorded at Austin
Community College's Northridge Campus studio on the
morning of Sept. 11, 2001. The WTC towers had just
fallen. We had no idea but that the world as we knew it
might have been falling apart at the seams. We didn't
speak of it, but when we played, there was among us an
unspoken prayer in our music, expressed as the sure
knowledge that the most hopeful and positive thing we
could do at that time and place was to make a
"joyful noise" with the craft that we knew
best, not out of lack of attention to the terrible tragedies
unfolding elsewhere, but in the spirit of bringing light
into dark times. These cuts express a very
special spirit and energy. We're proud to share them
with you. |
